Sisters is probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once the sisters are grown, it becomes the strongest relationship. ~Margaret Mead
My sister and I are so opposite of each other too. She is blonde hair blue eyes; I'm dark hair and hazel eyes. She is petite and I am tall. She is very outgoing and makes friends very easily. I am more reserve and hold back. Her favorite color is blue (the cool colors). Mine is green/orange (the warm colors).
I remember growing up thinking about how annoying a sister can be...dressing like me, wanting to hang out with my friends and me, doing the same things as me, etc. I still remember the time I got dressed for the day, and my sister Christy came downstairs and was wearing the same exact outfit in a different color. I'm sure at times we were competitive, always wanting what the other had. Sharing a room, we thought was a bad things most days, as I remember running a strip of tape down the center of our room and marking the boundaries. ha ha
As I went to college, I began to realize how much I missed my sister being around. We were then 5 hours from each other, and she wasn't there just to talk. I'm realizing as we continue to get older and mature our relationship is now a friendship.
We've had some of the best times lately just hanging out with each other. Tonight I went with my sis to get my haircut, grab a bite to eat, and just chat. We just hung out enjoying mindless conversation together, not realizing how the time was passing by. These are the nights that are special to me. Realizing that my once annoying sister is now a best friend! Looking forward to spending many more times just hanging out. Love ya Christy!
Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there. ~Amy Li
