So I'm going to learn to sew...

I've always had an interest deep down to sew.  When I was younger, I admired my Grandma Peach for her skill of sewing.  She made beautiful quilts and each grandchild got one from her when we were babies.  I still have it today.  She also made her dresses. They were simple, but with great prints and they fit her perfectly.  It was my dream to learn some skills from her before she passed-away, but it didn't happen unfortunately.  I took a "stab" at sewing when I was younger for a 4-H project and made a piano seat cushion with the help of my mom, but that is as far as anything I've ever done.
Lately I've had an interest though in making some simple clothes, so for Christmas this past year I asked for a sewing machine.  When school got out I finally took the sewing machine out of the box and attempted to figure it out.  Little did I know that I have a husband who has this under control!  With a little help of the diagrams he had the sewing machine threaded in no time.  (He was taught well from his skilled-sewing mom) I was shocked!  I guess I know who to turn to when I'm struggling.  So I've been tagging a couple of things that I would like to try on pinterest. I figured if I posted about it on here, then it might motivate me to try some of the patterns out.

Here is one of the first projects I'd like to try.  Simple Skirt

Now if I can just find the right fabric I need.....
